I have taken several ice climbing courses with SJMG over the last several years with Dawn being the guide over the last 2 years. They really are the local experts in the Ouray/Red Mountain pass area with extensive, in depth knowledge of the terrain and current conditions. For many guides, it seems that ice climbing is an off season activity just to keep busy but for Dawn and several other guides with SJMG ice climbing is their focus and it shows. Pre-trip communication by office staff was excellent and logistics have always run smoothly.
